One small step

When I interact with a lot of people who are interested in personal finance, I do talk about the benefits of SIP investing in diversified equity funds.( Why this is a must for long term wealth creation...so on and so forth). People genuinely seem to understand and are raring to go.

But many do not take the " pain" of enrolling for an SIP.Some collect forms from fund houses then wait. Some have actually downloaded forms , filled them and really didn't have the time to kick start it by posting the completed form.

Only a very few have enrolled and those who enrolled and continued do so have benefited immensely.( esp. those who had the guts to continue their SIP during the 2008 -09 downturn).

Now coming back to the quote from 'Confucious'. The single step to begin the journey may be small, but it is very critical to begin the journey. Many of us do not take this first step to improve our personal finance. This step may be opening a PPF account or starting an SIP or getting a demat account or just getting a piggy bank!. When decided to begin the journey, take that one small step . This will help you achieve your financial goals in the long run.
